What we like is a solid entrance, and that is exactly what Canadian rockers Weaves have given us with their earsplitting new single 'Candy'. A screech of electric guitar instantly gives away what the band are all about, with charged riffs, clever observations and some strong vocal attitude from frontwoman Jasmyn Burke. Although featuring sweet references and sugary metaphors about love, there is nothing saccharine about the foursome, as the guitars don't let up an inch. A sucker punch to the ears and stomach, we could devour 'Candy' time and time again, and with plenty of shows just announced for the summer it looks like we'll get to. - SJ
